A semi-detached former railway worker's cottage, built in the early 1830s by the Whitby-Pickering Railway Company. The cottage is situated on the edge of the National Park in the pretty village of Ruswarp, approximately 1.5 miles from Whitby. With a riverside location on the banks of the River Esk, the cottage sits in a secluded private garden.
As the cottage is an old railway property, it sits alongside the line that carries the Heritage North York Moors Railway service between Whitby & Pickering and also the British Rail service between Whitby & Middlesbrough along the scenic Esk Valley.
The cottage is owned and run by Joan Hall who lives next door and offers a friendly welcome and on-the-spot help. This traditional cottage offers quality accommodation and facilities at reasonable prices in a spectacular location. Cleanliness is our top priority and we work hard to clean the cottage thoroughly between bookings.
