Swallows

The swallows arrived today and have already started building their nests. The first one arrived about 10 days ago - earlier than usual. Donald and Daisy and the 7 ducklings still visit 2-3 times a day and we now have another family of 3 ducklings. Last week we had an unusual visitor - a deer sprinted through the garden. There are moor hens to be seen on the river and Gilbert, the Canadian Goose, also visits regularly.

After a cold and damp Bank Holiday, today has been warm with lovely sunshine - summer is really on the way. With the flowers and trees bursting into bud and flower, not to mention all the wildlife activity, it really does feel like summer.
